Strawberry Meadow Pines is tucked away in the pines of Strawberry, Arizona—private, peaceful, and intentionally removed from the noise of the city. Because of that, getting here takes a little preparation.
The retreat is about 30 minutes north of Payson and sits beyond the main town areas, with limited stores, gas, and cell service once you head up the mountain. We strongly recommend planning ahead, checking weather conditions, and reviewing directions before your trip.
This page will help make sure your arrival is smooth and stress-free.

Payson is the most important stop before arriving at the retreat.
This is where you’ll find Walmart, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, gas stations, and most of the larger stores you may need before heading north.
Once you leave Payson, options become much more limited, so we highly recommend picking up groceries, supplies, and anything your group may need before continuing up Highway 87.

About 25–30 minutes north of Payson, Pine offers a few smaller stops along the way.
You’ll find gas stations, a country store, local restaurants, and small shops. It’s a good backup stop if you forgot something, but options are limited compared to Payson.
Pine is also a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy the mountain-town feel before continuing north.

Just a few minutes past Pine, you’ll arrive in Strawberry.
Strawberry is quiet and remote, with a few restaurants, cabins, and retreats—but there are no major stores and no gas station.
This is your final landmark before turning toward the retreat.
At the main turn in town, you’ll head left onto the main access road toward Fossil Creek Road and the retreat property.

From Strawberry, you’ll follow the road for about 10 minutes as it winds deeper into the pines.
As you approach Fossil Creek Road, the road passes a ranch with horses, curves sharply left, then begins to bend back right.
At that point, there is a smaller road that drops down to the left—it’s easy to miss if you’re not watching for it.
We’ll provide detailed directions and photos before your arrival to make this part easy.

After turning left off Fossil Creek Road, follow the road down the hill into the retreat property.
Once you reach the bottom, continue through the gate and into the main parking area, where marked parking spaces will guide you to the best place to unload and settle in.
Our caretakers live on-site and will be there to welcome you, help you get oriented, and answer any questions as your group gets settled.
From there, it’s time to unpack, slow down, and enjoy your stay in the pines.
